about the artist
i know not what i cannot do; i only know what i have not yet tried.
It’s a mindset I try and live by.
My name is Graydon C. Miller, and I’m an aspiring Industrial Designer, as visual now as I was the day I came out of the womb. Starting with sugar packets on restaurant tables, I’ve worked my way into a fledgling artist, with experience coming in all shapes and sizes.
I’ve never liked sitting still, and my portfolio reflects that; jumping from medium to medium, and style to style. I believe it is a privilege in life to be able to explore the wonderful world that has been so kindly laid out before us, and so I’d like to honor it in as many ways as possible. From Illustration to Modeling, and Photography to Graphic Design, my keen eye and visual sense has been rigorously honed and applied, leaving a piece of me on each and every work I touch, be it in a screen or on a page.
If there is one thing I fear in life, it is to live a life not well lived, or, put more succinctly, to have never tried to live.
And so it is my mission to fight that fear, by learning and doing as much as possible in the years I am alive, however many they may be.
I am proud to be able to witness the beauty that is all around me, from something as simple as the leaves on the ground, perched delicately on a sewage drain, to the miraculous satisfaction that comes from something as mundane as a well-engineered door handle. If I were to set one goal for my life, it would be able to impart that joy onto others, through the works I have learned to create.
In a world so caught up with racing itself mad in search of the future, I think the present provides an awful lot to learn from.
So much art seems to exist within this mindset, as well. I personally prefer to use my work as a way to honor the world around me, in the unique way in which I see it, for the story it tells and the beauty I am present to behold.
